Sapporo Breweries Limited is a Japanese beer brewing company headquartered in Ebisu, Shibuya, Tokyo, founded in 1876 when its Sapporo brand, the oldest beer brand in Japan, was first brewed in Sapporo, Hokkaido by Seibei Nakagawa. The company acquired the Canadian brewer Sleeman Breweries in 2006.
