Spanx, LLC is an American shapewear and intimate apparel company founded on February 15, 2000, by Sara Blakely in Atlanta, Georgia, where it remains headquartered. Its products span shapewear, activewear, denim, swimwear, intimates, leggings, and hosiery, sold in more than 50 countries, with the company valued at 1.2 billion dollars as of 2021. Blackstone acquired a majority stake in Spanx in October 2021, and the company keeps an all female board of directors with Blakely serving as executive chairman.
