Tersk Stud

Tersk Stud is a Russian horse-breeding farm near Mineralnye Vody in the Northern Caucasus, established on 11 February 1921 on the order of Marshal Semyon Budyonny by consolidating two existing farms to rebuild the country's horse population after the losses of the 1917-1923 revolutionary period. The farm specializes chiefly in Arabian horses, alongside breeding programs for other Russian breeds, and became internationally known by the mid-twentieth century for the quality of its Arabians. It now operates as Tersky Horse-Breeding Farm No. 169, its future having been in question since the Soviet Union's dissolution in 1991.
