JD.com, Inc., also known as Jingdong Group, is a major Chinese e-commerce, retail and technology company headquartered in Beijing, founded by Liu Qiangdong on 18 June 1998 and launched online in 2004, initially selling magneto-optical products before expanding into electronics and beyond; it rebranded from 360buy to JD.com in 2013. As of 2025 the company generated revenue exceeding 194 billion US dollars, making it China's largest retailer by revenue and placing it 47th on the Fortune Global 500. It is one of the two dominant business-to-consumer online retailers in China by transaction volume and revenue, competing primarily with Alibaba's Tmall, and its operations now span retail, technology, logistics, health care, industrials, property management, private label and insurance.
