Thomas Webb & Sons

Thomas Webb & Sons was an English glass manufacturer founded in 1837 by Thomas Webb near Stourbridge, initially trading as T. Webb & Co. from 1842 before adopting the Thomas Webb & Sons name. The firm operated glassworks at Platts from 1837 to 1856 and later at Dennis from 1855 to 1990, and it became known as the Crystal King of England for the quality of its cameo glass. Artisans such as John Northwood and George Woodall produced acclaimed pieces for the company, which won a Grand Prix at the 1889 Paris Exposition and secured an American patent the same year.
