MG Rover Group

MG Rover Group was the Birmingham based car maker that took over the Rover and MG car and engine businesses from BMW in 2000. It was the last mass market car company in British hands, and it built the Rover 25, 45 and 75 and the MG ZR, ZS, ZT and TF at Longbridge. It went into administration in April 2005, and its main assets passed to Nanjing Automobile and SAIC of China, which went on to revive the MG name for cars sold in Britain and elsewhere.
