Ford of Britain is the British subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, formally Ford Motor Company Limited, which took the Ford of Britain name in 1960. Its business started in 1909 and its registered office is in Laindon, Essex. It runs manufacturing sites at Dagenham, which makes diesel engines, and at Halewood, which makes transmissions, and a large research and development centre at Dunton, Essex. The Anglia, Zephyr and Cortina came from it before Ford of Europe was formed in 1967.
