British Motor Holdings was the holding company that the British Motor Corporation became in December 1966, after it had taken over both Jaguar and the body maker Pressed Steel. Under pressure from the government of the day it merged with Leyland Motor Corporation early in 1968 to form British Leyland, which put the Austin, Morris, MG, Riley, Wolseley, Jaguar, Rover and Triumph names under a single roof for the first time.
