Kyodo News is a nonprofit cooperative news agency headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, established in November 1945. It distributes news to nearly all Japanese newspapers and to radio and television networks whose combined subscriber base numbers about 50 million, and its Kyodo News International subsidiary, founded in 1982, supplies reports to international media from an office in Rockefeller Center, New York City.
