Naspers

Naspers Limited is a South African multinational internet, technology and media holding company headquartered in Cape Town, founded on 12 May 1915 as the Afrikaans-language publisher Die Nasionale Pers and renamed Naspers Limited in 1998. It operates as a publicly traded investment company with holdings across e-commerce, classifieds, fintech and food delivery, wholly owning South African businesses including Media24, Takealot.com and Property24, while its most valuable holding is a significant minority stake in the Chinese technology company Tencent. Naspers's own principal shareholder is Prosus, a Dutch-listed subsidiary that holds roughly 49 percent of Naspers under a cross-ownership structure between the two companies.
