Filmation

Filmation Associates was an American production company founded by Lou Scheimer and Norm Prescott in 1962, producing animated and live action productions and last located in Woodland Hills, California. In 1989 Filmation was closed by parent company Group W Productions, and its intellectual properties were acquired by the French cosmetics firm LOreal; the rights to its productions have since changed hands several times and are today owned primarily by DreamWorks Animation. Filmation is known for animated adaptations of DC Comics and Archie Comics characters, Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, Star Trek: The Animated Series, its own version of Ghostbusters, and the two Mattel toyline adaptations He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra: Princess of Power.
