The Cyprus News Agency is the major news agency of Cyprus, officially established on 16 February 1976. It operates as a semi governmental organisation with full editorial independence, governed by a seven member board of directors drawn from media professionals. The agency covers domestic politics, foreign policy, the Cyprus issue, European Union developments, the economy, culture and sport, and it distributes daily news in Greek, English and Turkish to newspapers, broadcasters, international agencies, embassies and diaspora communities around the world. It keeps correspondents on the island and in major cities including Brussels, Athens, London, Washington and New York.
