Afghan Islamic Press is an Afghan news agency established in 1982, during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, by Muhammad Yaqub Sharafat, whose uncle Mohammad Yunus Khalis was a leader of the anti-Soviet mujahideen guerrilla movement.
