Katoikos.eu, later renamed Katoikos.world, is a web based magazine styled in newspaper format that offers commentary, analysis and cartoons on international affairs from a European and cosmopolitan perspective. It was founded in 2014 and is based in Madrid, Spain, established as a private limited liability company, Katoikos S.L., alongside the organizations FOGGS and the Global Souths Perspective Network. Its founders and publishers were Jose-Luis Herrero and Georgios Kostakos, who also serves as editor in chief. The name derives from the Greek word katoikos, meaning resident or inhabitant, reflecting the publication's aim of engaging European Union citizens in dialogue about EU affairs.
