Fox Film Corporation

The Fox Film Corporation, also known as Fox Studios, was an American independent film production company formed in 1915 by theater chain pioneer William Fox. It was the corporate successor to Foxs earlier Greater New York Film Rental Company and Box Office Attraction Company, founded in 1913. Fox Film was founded on February 1, 1915 in Fort Lee, New Jersey, and became one of the major Hollywood studios of the silent and early sound eras. On May 31, 1935, Fox Film merged with Twentieth Century Pictures to form 20th Century-Fox, later known as 20th Century Studios.
