Amazon MGM Studios is an American film and television studio headquartered in Culver City, California, formed from Amazon Studios, Amazon's original production arm founded in 2010, after Amazon completed an approximately 8.5 billion dollar acquisition of the historic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio in 2022. The combination brought Amazon control of MGM's extensive film library alongside a continuing co-ownership stake, together with Eon Productions, in the James Bond franchise. The studio produces and distributes film and television content for theatrical release and for Amazon's own Prime Video streaming service.
