The Cannon Group, Inc. was an American film production and distribution company based in Los Angeles that operated from 1967 to 1994, best known for successful 1980s action films such as Missing in Action, American Ninja, and Bloodsport. The company also owned international cinema chains and video distribution operations through subsidiaries including Cannon Video and Cannon Cinemas before undergoing several ownership changes and being rebranded as Pathe Communications, which merged with MGM/UA Communications.
