Skydance Media

Skydance Media, formerly Skydance Productions, was an American media production and financing company founded by David Ellison and based in Santa Monica, California. It was formed in 2006 and stayed active until August 7, 2025, when it merged with National Amusements and Paramount Global to form Paramount Skydance. The company specialized in films, animation, television, video games and sports. Its first film was Flyboys in 2006, co-financed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, and from 2009 it co-produced and co-financed films with Paramount Pictures under a five-year partnership that was renewed twice and ran to 2021. After the 2025 merger its film library passed to Paramount Pictures, while the Skydance name stayed in use on divisions such as Skydance Animation and Skydance Sports.
