Pathé

Pathe SAS, stylized as PATHE! since 1999, is a French film production and distribution company that also owns a number of cinema chains through its subsidiary Pathe Cinemas as well as television networks across Europe. It ranks as the second oldest active film company in the world after Gaumont, founded in 1895. The company began as a network of French enterprises established by the Pathe brothers starting in 1896, and during the early twentieth century it grew into the worlds leading film equipment and production company alongside a major phonograph manufacturing business, introducing the newsreel format for theatrical exhibition before feature presentations in 1908.
