National Film Board of Canada

The National Film Board of Canada (NFB), known in French as the Office national du film du Canada, is a Canadian public film and digital media producer and distributor founded on May 2, 1939, and headquartered in Montreal, Quebec. It is an agency of the Government of Canada that reports to Parliament through the Minister of Canadian Heritage, producing documentary films, animation, web documentaries and alternative dramas through bilingual English and French production programs. The NFB has produced more than 43,000 productions since its founding, which have won more than 5,000 awards.
