Sun Pictures is an Indian film production company headquartered in Chennai, part of the Sun Group media conglomerate controlled by the Maran family, which also owns the broadcaster Sun TV Network. It is one of the major producers and distributors of Tamil-language cinema, financing big-budget commercial films featuring leading stars of the Tamil film industry, and it also handles distribution for other production houses' films across South Indian markets. Its productions and acquisitions have repeatedly ranked among the highest-grossing Tamil films of their respective release years.
