CloverWorks Inc. is a Japanese animation studio headquartered in Nakano, Tokyo. It began as an internal division of its sister studio A-1 Pictures, which rebranded its Koenji Studio under the CloverWorks name in April 2018, and it announced its separation from A-1 Pictures in October 2018, remaining a subsidiary of the anime production company Aniplex. After the rebranding, four productions changed their credited studio from A-1 Pictures to CloverWorks: Slow Start, Darling in the Franxx, Persona 5: The Animation and Ace Attorney Season 2. In May 2022 CloverWorks joined Aniplex, Wit Studio and Shueisha in establishing the production company JOEN, meant to streamline the production and planning of anime and related media.
