Sony Pictures Studios is an American, Japanese-owned television and film studio complex in Culver City, California, founded in 1912. Now owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, it houses the divisions of Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures and Screen Gems, and has carried several earlier names over its history, including Triangle Studios, Goldwyn Studios, MGM Studios and Lorimar-Telepictures Studios, before becoming Sony Pictures Studios in 1990.
