Naughty Dog, LLC is an American video game developer based in Santa Monica, California, founded by Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin in 1984 under the name JAM Software. After early games including Rings of Power and Way of the Warrior drew a development contract from Universal Interactive Studios, the studio created Crash Bandicoot for the original PlayStation in 1996 and followed it with further Crash Bandicoot titles, Crash Team Racing, and the Jak and Daxter series. Naughty Dog was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001 and went on to create the Uncharted series beginning in 2007 and The Last of Us, developed by a secondary team within the studio.
