CD Projekt SA

CD Projekt SA is a Polish video game company headquartered in Warsaw, founded in May 1994 by Marcin Iwinski and Michal Kicinski, who began as video game retailers and distributors of foreign titles for the Polish market before forming a development studio, CD Projekt Red, in 2002. CD Projekt Red is best known for The Witcher series of role-playing games, based on the fantasy novels of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski, and for Cyberpunk 2077, released in 2020 to a troubled launch followed by a substantially improved reputation after years of patches and an expansion. The company also launched the digital distribution platform Good Old Games (GOG.com) in 2008, specializing in older titles sold free of digital rights management, though the platform was later sold to a former co-founder.
