Press Trust of India (PTI) is India's largest news agency, headquartered in New Delhi and established in 1949 as a nonprofit cooperative owned by the country's newspapers, succeeding the earlier Associated Press of India. It is the principal domestic wire service for Indian print and broadcast media, supplying text and photo news coverage across the country in English and Hindi.
