Vodafone Idea Limited

Vodafone Idea Limited is an Indian mobile network operator formed in 2018 through the merger of Vodafone India and Idea Cellular, and operates under the Vi brand. Headquartered with dual registered offices in Mumbai and Gandhinagar, it is a joint venture between the UK-based Vodafone Group and India's Aditya Birla Group, and at the time of its merger it briefly became India's largest mobile carrier by subscribers before losing ground to Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel amid an intense domestic price war. The company has faced significant financial strain from accumulated statutory dues and spectrum liabilities, prompting government relief measures including conversion of a portion of its dues into an equity stake held by the Indian state, and it continues to serve one of the largest subscriber bases of any Indian telecom operator across GSM voice, data and enterprise services.
