The Namibia Press Agency is the state owned national news agency of Namibia, headquartered in Windhoek with additional offices in Swakopmund, Gobabis, the Ongwediva and Oshakati area, Opuwo and Rundu. It was originally founded in 1987 as the Namibia Press Association and was resuscitated under its current name in 1991, operating under the Namibia Press Agency Act of 1992 with about 20 journalists and 30 other staff providing text and picture news services to local and international customers.
