TVRI

LPP Televisi Republik Indonesia, known as TVRI, is an Indonesian national public television network and one of Indonesia's two national public broadcasting institutions, alongside the public radio network RRI. It first aired publicly on 24 August 1962 on the opening day of the 1962 Asian Games, making it the oldest television network in the country, with its national headquarters in Gelora, Central Jakarta. TVRI monopolized television broadcasting in Indonesia until 1989, was converted from a state-controlled broadcaster into an independent public broadcaster in 2005 alongside RRI, and now broadcasts nationally through three national channels and 35 regional stations, funded primarily by the state budget, advertisements, and other services.
