Satyam Computer Services Limited was an Indian information technology services company headquartered in Hyderabad, founded in 1987, offering software development, system maintenance, and engineering design services that by 2008 served 185 Fortune 500 clients with about 52,000 employees. In January 2009, founder Ramalinga Raju confessed to inflating the company's assets by roughly 1 billion dollars, describing a gap between actual and reported operating profit that grew over the years. Tech Mahindra acquired the company later in 2009 and rebranded it Mahindra Satyam, merging the two entities fully on June 24, 2013.
